Citizens Guide

For more than ten years, Knozone has been educating central Indiana residents about the risks of air pollution and encouraging citizens to adopt clean air strategies. With the help of the 1.7 million people that call central Indiana home, our region’s air quality has been improving. And that’s good news!

Good air quality translates to better health and a better quality of life. For example, one of the best ways to help keep the air clean is to drive less and walk, bike, and use transit more often. Driving less decreases traffic congestion, making it easier and more pleasant for everyone to get to their destination. And walking and biking increases overall physical health.

Clean air strategies also help spur economic development. Without them, the federal government can impose strict regulations on a region making it difficult for business and industry to expand or even relocate. However, there’s still more we can do to make visible difference in central Indiana’s air quality because poor air quality threatens economic prosperity, poses risks to human health, and is detrimental to the environment.

Show your friends and neighbors that you care about their health and the environment by taking an active interest in the Knozone program. Your participation can help ensure that central Indiana remains a great place to do live, work and play. After all, clean air is in your hands!
