Knozone Action Days

Knozone Action Days are called year-round when the Air Quality Index (AQI) forecast indicates that the region's air quality may become unhealthy for sensitive groups, represented by the color orange on the AQI.

While the definition of a Knozone Action Day has changed with the evolution of the program, the program continues to ask that businesses and individuals take action so that the air we all breathe will remain clean and healthy.

Knozone Action Days are usually declared by 2 p.m. the day prior to the Knozone Action Day. Knozone Action Days that fall on weekends or the following Monday are declared on Friday. Even when government offices are closed, staff closely monitors the air quality and notifies the media of Knozone Action Days.
